TiCats Primer...GOTTA HAVE IT!!!

Intrinsic Motivation is defined as the motivation that comes from inside an individual rather than from any external or outside rewards, such as money or grades...

As  "hope" (which we talked about prior to the BC Lions loss) has been all but mathematically extinguished, the Saskatchewan Roughriders now enter a territory that even I, as a former pro, am unfamiliar with.  That terrain, at least in terms of the standings with a month left, is having to play while having nothing to play for...

I don't envy the situation at all.  In a professional sport where one is in "job interview" mode every minute of every day; being 2-12 unfortunately fosters the same doubt and talk inside of the locker room that already exists on the outside of the walls.

Players can't help but play "arm-chair GM" at this point, in some way shape or form.  Right now it's on the vets to try and maintain the focus on winning, but by now, some of the same vets this team is depending on, are also in jeopardy of not being around next year AT ALL...anywhere. #NatureOfTheBeast

The Green and White are being tasked to fight through the adversity on the field, and now, the adversity that is undeniably present in the locker room.  It's a potentially cancerous environment, but somehow, someway, the guys have to find a way to FOCUS on football.

Right now players need to take another hard look in the mirror, and search hard for any reason other than "my job is on the line" to come out and perform.

The focus needs to be on playing each snap, and trying to block out everything else that is going on around them. Intrinsic Motivation, in any form, has to carry each player. It's the only thing that will keep them playing as a unit...

Cups up to the boys finding a way to fight through. NEVER GIVE UP...
